As Doral continues to grow, there’s a new attraction coming up that will be a big draw for residents: Doral Legacy Park. 

The park will be a combination of a nature center, sports & recreation, educational activities, and more. Designed to inspire residents to explore the natural world around them, it will also be a place for community events and festivals. Read on for some ideas.

Parks & Recreation

Doral Legacy Park is a family-friendly place to spend time in Doral, offering lots of fun activities. Its lighted artificial sports fields, basketball and tennis courts, picnic areas, and covered pavilions are all available for use.

It’s also a dog-friendly area with small and large dog off-leash areas. Children can play in the shade of a large playground, while parents can take a relaxing stroll on a nature trail along the pond’s scenic boardwalk.

One of the newest parks in the city, Glades Park is an ideal destination for families with active kids. It’s set on 25 acres and includes a nature preserve, lake, and sports facilities. It features a scenic lighted boardwalk, fishing pier, and kayak launch.

Sports & Fitness

The newest kid on the block, Doral Legacy Park boasts 18+ acres of gardens, playgrounds, and sports facilities. The park also has a fancy two-story 38,280 square foot LEED Silver recreation building which features a bevy of high-tech gadgets including a Cybex selectorized strength equipment, True Form treadmill, Versa Climber, and the name of their top-of-the-line elliptical machine to name but a few. This facility is also the home of Doral’s newest and most innovative teen center, which features state-of-the-art technology and amenities to help keep teens engaged, healthy, and happy. This is the type of center that Doral residents will be proud to call home. The teen center is also the first of its kind in Florida to offer free parking and no-cost bus service. Events & Festivals

The City of Doral puts on a number of exciting events and festivals every year. These include a variety of cultural and sporting activities, including the Doral Art & Sip cultural series.

The city also puts on a competition called the “Our Parks” contest, where photographers submit their best shots of the city’s most noteworthy parks. The winning photos are showcased at Downtown Doral Park.

The park itself is actually a beautiful and state-of-the-art complex with a splash pad, sports fields, and a nice little playground for the kids.
